This paper delves into the impact of globalization on curriculum reform in China. It starts by highlighting the significance of the research, which provides a theoretical basis for curriculum change measures and promotes the cultivation of globally competent talents. After defining global education, it reviews relevant literature. The paper then analyzes various aspects of curriculum reform under globalization. From a pedagogical perspective, China has shifted from an educator – centered to a learner – centered paradigm. Regarding the teacher perspective, power has been decentralized, increasing teachers’ responsibilities. China also aims for innovation – oriented human resource development and cultural development strategies. However, implementation issues exist, such as the deterioration of learner – centered education in the Chinese context, difficulties for teachers in implementing reform, obstacles to innovative talent development, and the loss of indigenous culture. Finally, possible future directions like diversifying assessment, promoting a comprehensive educational system, and supporting collaborative curriculum development are proposed.
